Exploring Texas, One State Park at a Time

Recently, I picked up the Texas State Park scratch-off poster—and it instantly sparked something in me. With over 80 beautiful parks scattered across the Lone Star State, this little map represents more than just destinations to check off. It’s a long-term goal, a personal challenge, and a way to stay connected to the natural beauty that surrounds us.

As an engineer, my day-to-day often revolves around solving problems, optimizing systems, and staying immersed in technology. But being outdoors—camping under the stars, hiking rugged trails, or simply enjoying the stillness of a quiet morning—is where I reset, refocus, and recharge.

This blog series will document my journey to visit every Texas State Park, one adventure at a time. Whether it’s a weekend trip to a nearby gem or a planned getaway to a remote part of the state, each park has something unique to offer. I’m not in a rush—this is something I plan to enjoy throughout my life, taking it slow, one scratch at a time.

If you’re into hiking, camping, or just looking for new places to explore, follow along! I’ll be sharing tips, photos, and reflections from each stop along the way.

Let’s see where the map leads.
